Financial Analyst

REPORTING TO

KEY OBJECTIVES

In accordance with the company mission and vision the position holder should ensure the following:

Basics:

Accurate and timely submission of assigned reports and effective analysis

Added value:

Provide new value adding reports and analysis to support the work of the financial planning department and to act as a business partner to the rest of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Business:

Financial Planning and Analysis

•Support business development of brand

•Monitor progress against budget/forecast 

•Perform variance analysis and support other departments/functions to make sure that target can be achieved

•Participate in sales meeting and/or other business meetings to understand the business situation

•Perform statistical, cost and financial analysis of financial reports and data, and prepare subsequent narrative analyses to the management

•Review costs and perform cost/benefit analysis to improve profitability

•Support in monitoring financial standard and KPI across the whole company

•Support in identifying risks and opportunities so that the management is able to make optimal decisions

Budgeting and Forecasting

•Support in the development of the annual budget

•Collaborate with other department to obtain necessary information in developing budgets and forecasts

•Interprets data to determine past financial performance and project financial probabilities

•Develops financial reports and identify trends to support in making forecasts and analysing results

•Analyze the information received from other departments/functions for accuracy and reasonableness

•Prepare necessary reports and documents on time and with accuracy

Perform ad hoc analyses and work in special projects as needed 

•Interprets financial transactions and events for business decision makings

•Analyze market, competitor, company’s business and financials that are relevant

•Collaborate with project members to deliver internal presentations

•Support in providing analyses related to projects and programs

Financial reporting

•Create financial documentation and reports on monthly and quarterly basis, and distribute to necessary functions.

•Identify areas for improvements such as report format and metrics for better analysis. 

•Ensure processing and transactions are recorded in accordance with Japan GAAP and IFRS, and in compliance with accounting/finance policy.

TITLE

Accountant

REPORTING TO Financial Controller of Tokyo Office

KEY OBJECTIVES

Seeking an Accountant who will contribute to and support overall management of revenue recognition, work in progress and account receivables control under the supervision and guidance of the Financial Controller/Finance Director/Chief Finance Officer, Tokyo Office in close coordination with the Sales team and consulting team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Manage and coordinate monthly revenue recognition process in accordance to company/group company revenue recognition policy for services to be rendered over the duration of the contract

-Ensure timely billing process based on contractual terms

-Keep track of Account Receivables and Work in Progress and report the status monthly, including aging, collections and billing status. Responsible for working capital reporting and analysis. 

-Responsible for management reporting of revenue cycle and related requirements in Hyperion Financial Management.

-Keep track of project-related direct costs payment status to capture profitability of the project

-Coordinate client contract review process to protect company’s positions from Finance and Legal perspectives

-Responsible for seeking headquarters’ approval for client’s contractual credit term 

-Keep tracking the credit limit and credit risk grades in credit management tool designated by the group company

-Maintain and support internal procurement preapproval process

-Maintain logs/lists for contracts and other internal approval documents

-Other ad hoc reporting, analysis and general finance operational and administrative tasks when required by CFO/Finance Director

REQUIREMENTS

-Require working experience in Finance or Accounting for more than 5 years, preferably in a multi-national corporation or in international setting

-Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards and understanding of business related implication

-Experience in Financial Planning including revenue analysis will be a plus

-Business English skills in reading, writing and speaking

-Good computer skills (excel advance level preferred)

-Good team player but also capable of operating independently when required  

-Outgoing and proactive attitude toward problem-solving

-Accounting Qualification/Certification is preferable 

-Knowledge of Hyperion and Maconomy is preferred
