The Role 職務内容

You will conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits across all areas of our business. You will plan and scope audits, execute audit plans, prepare written findings, and facilitate business responses and action items. You will provide consultative support to business partners to identify opportunities for control improvements with the objective of mitigating risk and improving financial and operational performance. Audit areas may include finance, HR, operations, retail, payments, business continuity, asset management, and legal, among others. Additionally, you will participate in ad-hoc assignments and investigations as needs arise.

You must be able to work independently, remain flexible with the ability to prioritize workloads, and maintain a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese. You should have a strong background in accounting and internal control auditing. In addition, the right individual will have good analytical skills, solid business judgment, strong controllership focus, and the capability to drive a fast paced organization to the right results with a focused and pragmatic approach to the business.

This position will be based out of Tokyo and may require up to 20% travel, including some international travel.

Minimum Qualifications 必要なスキル・経験

BASIC

• 4 year degree in Accounting, Engineering, Finance, IT or similar fields

• 10+ years of experience with Accounting, Auditing, or Finance roles, showing progression in areas for responsibility

• Excellent written and verbal communication in both English and Japanese

• Ability to travel up to 20%

PREFERRED

• Advanced degree (e.g., MBA).

• Relevant certifications (CPA equivalent, CIA, CISA, CISSP, CFE)

• Familiarity with database systems, and tools used for data analytics, data mining, and fraud examination

• Experience with public accounting firms, and in-house internal audit, internal control experience.

• Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley, US GAAP, and Japanese GAAP

• In conjunction with the Tax Expansion and Corporate Tax Teams

• Build out the team required to support the operational tax compliance functions of Finance Operations for Japan and other APAC countries

• Lead both multi-year business planning and annual forecasts with detailed financial for business segments and initiatives.

• Lead forecast updates to keep managements up to date. Conduct timely reviews with explanation to forecast changes and variance vs. actual, communicate business issues and demand actions to management and business partners.

• There are variety of analysis on demand; pricing, product sourcing strategy, new category or store launches, new business models, co-promotion opportunities and other merchandising strategy.

• For new business and business models, simulate benefit and costs to company, the business partners and our consumers.

• Conduct overall cost analysis including Retail operating components, Supply Chain and logistics, as well as General and Administration costs.

• Partner with other finance teams and multi-functions and develop all weekly and monthly financial close activities, all planning forecasting, and reporting models while overseeing their continuous innovation and communication to both operations and other business partners.

• Work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, automated and timely.

• Track and manage budgets and headcounts. Reviews and approve cost/fee structure change proposals and investments.

• Coach and grow subordinates. Hire the best and develop Japan finance group with other Finance leaders.

Minimum Qualifications 必要なスキル・経験

• 5+ years’ experience as a finance leader in an organization with world class processes.　

• Demonstrated financial acumen and analytical experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and project analysis (example: business modeling), and data interpretation of business impact and results (example: what-if scenarios).

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities at once.

• A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations.

• Strong communication skills, both in written and verbal form.

• Ability to present and defend ideas in front of senior and executive leadership.

• 2+ years’ experience managing a program and/or people.

• Japanese comprehension. Fluent in Business English.

PREFERRED

• MBA and/or CPA and/or CFA desirable, but not required.
