My client is a Life Insurance, Pensions and Investment service provider with offices around the globe. They are now actively seeking a Regulatory and Group Reporting Manager to join their expanding team in Hong Kong.
The primary responsibility for this role is to provide oversight, quality assurance and ensure regulatory compliance of regulatory submissions generated by the Finance team (Accounting and Actuarial), working alongside the Regional Financial Actuary, Asia & Middle East. The role will be based in Hong Kong and be primarily responsible for the regulatory reporting for Singapore (MAS), with oversight on Hong Kong (OCI) and UAE (IA).
You will be tasked to provide robust oversight of regulatory returns for all branches, under local production requirements, ensuring that they are submitted in line with regulations. Liaise with local compliance officers in order to stay up to date with regulatory requirements. Ensuring the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of regulatory, close coordination with Finance Team (Accounting and Actuarial Reporting teams) based in Dorking (UK). Responsible for regulatory reporting involves the production of the branch results under both an IFRS and Regulatory basis, IFRS compliance for Singapore, HK and UAE, with reporting at each quarter, mid-year and year-end. Besides, you will be handling high quality analytical review and analysis to support all regulatory submissions whilst acting on a consultancy basis for the production and submission process.
You are required to be a qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ Degree) or qualified by experience with minimum 5 years of reporting role experience; strong local knowledge of MAS regulatory reporting requirements couple with knowledge of Hong Kong and UAE regulatory requirements an advantage, strong experience of accounting for Life Insurance entities under IFRS basis, including the treatment of investment contracts, experience of drafting technical accounting papers and challenging current practice in order to drive improvement; experience of preparation of reports, analysis, commentary and technical accounting opinions on financial reporting matters suitable for presentation at senior management and board level.
