Work Outline: Entails designing, creating and maintaining the company’s IT services. While leading the company’s IT team, the IT service manager strives to develop a reliable IT service and improve IT service infrastructure.
Duties & Responsibility:
They must have an excellent knowledge of IT systems and tools, and always keep up to date with new developments in the IT industry. As this is a managerial role, they must know not only how to execute certain industry-specific tasks, but also be aware of the possibilities and constraints of the industry at large, they must be able to helm their team and co-ordinate with related partners.
The service skills entail the ability to put themselves in the customer's shoes and never lose sight of how end users think. To be successful at what they do, IT service managers must always have a focused consumer orientation. Whether it is strategic or operational, every task they perform must put the customers' needs first. This requires constant communication with clients and end users while they are engaged in planning, monitoring, and implementing new solutions.
Management skills are essential in this line of work. In addition to excellent project management and information acquisition skills, IT service managers must be able to analyze and assess problem situations as they arise in order to plan, design, and implement suitable solutions. They must be able to motivate their team all the while maintaining customer focus, and find the right balance between the two when tackling various projects.
Qualifications:
[Must]
Bachelor's degree or higher in computer Engineering / Computer Science / IT or related fields.
5 years’ Experience on servers and Network administration.
The IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) qualification is required throughout the IT service management hierarchy. Graduates level a Foundation or Intermediate ITIL certificate.
Lastly, Good English language and able to speak Chinese.
To get recruited to the position of IT service manager, a candidate must have industry specific professional qualifications in addition to a university degree in a relevant subject.
