Job Description
<Job Responsibilities> - Attend daily and weekly site meetings - Participate in site patrols - Discuss with site team about events for which the company can claim from the contracting party - Record minutes of meetings in English - Initiate notifications and claim letters within time limits as assigned by Project Director or department chiefs - Record number of letters in log sheets and follow up change logs with site team - Understand contractual rights, scope of work, terms and conditions, and grounds for contract sum & claim - Understand baseline schedule, key dates/milestones, document/certificate submission requirements - Understand change management procedures and timeframes for the project - Ensure proper documentation of evidence (certificates, approvals, pictures, progress reports, correspondence, MOM, work instructions, site memos, daily reports) for potential disputes - Liaise with construction site regarding contractual and legal perspectives - Coordinate with international division to address ongoing site situations
Job Requirement
<Necessary Skill / Experience> - Bachelor's Degree in Law, Engineering, or a related field - At least 10 years of experience in contract management, preferably in the construction industry - 5 years experience in management position - Conversational high level in English for communication with Japanese report line, meetings with headquarters, emails and documents - Strong understanding of construction contracts, including standard forms of contract and relevant laws and regulations (ex. FIDIC, AIA, AUS, JCT, etc.) - Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills - Proficient in contract administration, risk management, and dispute resolution - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Proficient in MS Office and Contract Management Software/Tools <Preferable Skill/ Experience> - Experience in a working environment in a Japanese company
