<Number of employees : Total:24 Local: 22 Japanese: 2 > <Report Line: Japanese MD (around 40s, middle, male)> <Team Member:The Business Development Team has four groups: Sales, Sales Support, Marketing, and Application Lab. There are about 15 members. Sales and Sales Support: 1 Japanese manager, several Thai managers, and staff around 30 years old. Marketing and Application Lab: each has a Thai manager, with staff also around 30 years old. > <Number of Subordinates: 6 people (Marketing:3 / Application laboratory: 3)> <Products: flavour products for food. > <Clients: Manufacturing company in food industry> <Saturday Working: None > <Job Responsibilities> ●Scope of Responsibility - Sales, Sales Support, Marketing, and the Application Laboratory. - Sales and Sales Support will be directly managed by a Japanese manager, so the role focuses on indirect supervision and coordination through them. ●Work Ratio - Management: about 80% (organization management, people management, cross-department coordination, KPI management, etc.) - Sales: about 20% (follow-up with existing clients, support for key deal closing, client visits, etc.) ●Marketing Management - Improve market awareness of products and services, manage exhibitions and seminars - Plan lead generation activities to acquire new clients - Use data analysis and market research results for strategy planning ●Application Laboratory Management - Manage the lab team focusing on food & beverage flavor development and application research - Work with clients and sales teams on sample formulation and product testing for food flavors - Track flavor trends in the food industry and propose solutions based on client needs - Build technical support systems to strengthen and grow the flavor business ●Sales / Sales Support Management (Japanese manager in charge) - Share policies and check progress through the Japanese manager - Monitor overall team performance and suggest improvements when needed - Strengthen collaboration between departments (e.g., Sales and Marketing) ●Business Trips - Training trip to Malaysia about once a year (additional trips if needed) - Share knowledge and support talent development with overseas offices ●Head Office Reporting - Prepare sales report materials for Japanese headquarters - Direct reporting is not required, but materials help visualize local business performance and market trends ●Additional Information - Department managers are around 35 years old. - Staff members are about 28–32 years old. - Sales counterparts are local R&D and Purchasing departments (around 40 years old). - The industry has more women than men. - The main expectation for this role is management of local staff. Client Portfolio - Japanese companies: about 50% - Local companies: about 50% - Average lead time from first contact to production start is around 6 months, requiring long-term relationship building and follow-up.
Job Requirement
<Necessary Skill / Experience > - Bachelor's Degree in chemical related field - Knowledge of food flavors - At least 8 years of sales experience in "food flavors" industry - Management experience as manager - Conversion middle to high of English level (Used in the company, required for product development with Malaysia/Japan and email communication) <Preferable Skill / Experience> - Experience in cross-functional management - Work experience in a Japanese company - Japanese skill <Personality> A team player, not focused only on individual performance
