Job Description
Key Responsibilities Test Equipment, Jig & Facility Development • Define technical specifications for test equipment, jigs, fixtures, and adapters used in component, system, and vehicle testing. • Prepare procurement requirements and coordinate with internal maintenance teams and external suppliers for fabrication, installation, and commissioning. • Manage equipment projects in terms of schedule, cost, performance validation, and acceptance testing. Test Planning & Coordination • Develop and standardize validation plans, test procedures, and acceptance criteria for powertrain and vehicle systems. • Coordinate test activities with design, analysis, production, and external stakeholders to ensure timely execution. • Ensure all tests comply with internal standards, ISO regulations, and customer specifications. Powertrain & Vehicle Validation • Conduct and support functional, performance, durability, strength, environmental, and lifetime tests for: o Powertrain systems (motor, transmission, axle, drive unit) o Chassis and structural components o Complete forklift vehicles • Analyze test data, identify failure modes and root causes, and recommend design or specification improvements. Forklift Specific Evaluation Scope • Perform safety and structural strength testing, including Overhead Guard (OHG) strength tests in accordance with ISO 6055. • Execute component durability tests such as mast bench durability and hydraulic system evaluations. • Conduct vehicle durability and strength assessments using strain gauges, durability courses (MIL equivalent), and fatigue life estimation methods (Rainflow, S N curve). • Evaluate vehicle performance, including speed, traction, braking, climbing ability, lift/tilt speed, stability, noise, energy consumption, and thermal performance. Specialized Evaluation (Advantage) • Support electrical system and EMC evaluation, including wiring, sensors, controllers, and compliance testing. • Conduct NVH assessments related to vibration, noise levels, and ride comfort.
Job Requirement
<Necessary Skill / Experience> ・Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field. ・Gender: Any ・Language: Japanese - Conversational Level (N3 level up) or English - Intermediate Level ・Experience: • Experience in vehicle or powertrain testing, preferably for forklifts, construction machinery, or industrial vehicles. • Knowledge of test methods, instrumentation, sensors, and data analysis techniques. • Strong project coordination, supplier management, and cross-functional communication skills. <Others> • Hands on, analytical mindset with strong problem solving ability.
