Job Description
<Job Responsibilities>
This position plays a crucial role in establishing and maintaining the chemical management system within the company while complying with Vietnamese chemical regulations. The direct supervisor will be the Head of the Research and Development Department (Japanese), and decisions regarding system construction and technical aspects will be made in collaboration with this department head.
・Main task (90%): Responsible for chemical safety management (following Vietnam Chemicals Law)
- Creation of SDS (Safety Data Sheets), GHS classification, hazard evaluation, and preparation of related documents.
- Preparation and submission of chemical notifications, environmental registration documents, environmental protection licenses, and emergency response plans.
- Coordinate and negotiate with government agencies (environmental, fire department, etc.) and external lawyers/consultants.
- Organization of document systems and response records related to the management system.
- Logical and structured reporting and proposals to the department head (non-specialist) (initially oral with interpreter → gradually transitioning to written reports).
・Sub-tasks (10%): Commercialization support (with future expansion)
- Organization and internal sharing of records for product prototypes and evaluation results.
- Technical information organization and liaison between the manufacturing and quality departments.
- Assistance with experimental tasks (only when necessary and if the CSO has the capacity).
- Structuring and archiving of technical and regulatory coordination documents.
Job Requirement
<Necessary Skill / Experience >
・Education:achelor's degree or higher in chemistry (*Required for qualification as Chemical Safety Manager)
・Age: 25-35 years old
・Gender: Any
・Language: None
・Experience: At least 2 years of working experience as Chemicals safety management or EHS operations
・Other:
- Experience in dealing with authorities (emergency response plans, environmental registration documents, environmental protection licenses, etc.)
- Experience collaborating with lawyers and consultants (reviewing legal documents, Q&A sessions, etc.)
- Experience as the main negotiator with external organizations
<Important skill>
- Ability to think logically and explain/report things structurally (initial support provided).
- Flexibility to work autonomously and collaborate with stakeholders.
<Preferable Personality>
- Japanese Business Level (JLPT N2 or higher) OR Chinese Business Level (HSK Level 4 or above (HSK Level 5 is preferred)
- Willingness to expand from legal work to technological development
- Experience working in the chemical manufacturing industry (HSE department, quality control, development, manufacturing)
- Experience working with foreign superiors and cross-sectional coordination
- Interest in structuring technical documents and reports
