Job Description

Our client, a Canadian Bank, is now looking an experienced candidate to join their expanding team:


Responsibilities

1.Administrative Support (20%)

•Act as a back-up for discretionary portfolio management portfolio execution.

•Participate ad hoc projects as assigned by investment team head.

•Actively participate in new product development and provide feedback to investment committee.


2.Superior service to users (Advisors & clients) (60%)

•Encourage adoption of a portfolio approach to investing through promoting managed products such as discretionary investment management services, mutual funds, structuring portfolio and marketing proposal.

•Provide investment advice and recommendations to Advisors & clients based on approved recommended list of stocks.

•Interpret current economic, political and financial trends and events of domestic and foreign countries. Determine possible effects of these trends and events in order to generate good investment idea in any investment products.

•Inform Advisors and other officers of any changes (or possible changes) which may affect their decisions and planning in relation to their lending and investment activities.

•Perform portfolio review on assigned accounts or at the request of advisors.

•Attend with Advisors at client meetings to provide more in-depth investment advice where required.

•Develop investment proposals to Advisors for client presentation when requested.


3.Risk & Compliance (20%)

•Participate all the relevant training courses required by the bank.

•Adhere to compliance policies and procedures as well as risk management procedures and controls.

•Ensure adherence to all aspects of First Principles, our code of Business Conduct and Ethics including individual accountability as it relates to potential conflicts of interest, safeguarding of customer information, trading in securities, anti-money laundering, privacy and disclosure of outside business activities.

•Follow security and safeguarding procedures and apply appropriate due diligence in accordance with Bank policy for the prevention of loss due to fraud, robbery, counterfeiting, money laundering, terrorist financing or defalcation.

•Protect the Bank’s assets by adhering to all everyday banking, business banking, investment and lending regulations (as appropriate), Policies and Procedures, legal and ethical requirements, process requirements, bank guidelines and lending process requirements and established risk guidelines; as well, as instructions and guidelines required by the LOB.


Requirements

1. Knowledge:

•At least 8 year experience in similar position with a bank or financial institution.

•University graduate; Master degree or CFA preferable.

•Extensive and in depth knowledge of the product – stock trading / FX/ mutual funds, fixed income products, structured products/ portfolio management.

•Understand and comply with regulatory requirements in accordance with Bank’s policy and procedures.

•Professional qualifications such as Type 1, Type 4 and or Type 9.

•Proficient in MS Office & Excel.


2.Skills:

•Good communication and interpersonal skills.

•Self-initiative and able to work under pressure.

•Proactively looks for opportunities to contribute or support the effective and timely completion of ongoing work.

•Is flexible and resourceful.

•Is able to work collaboratively with other team members.

•The ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently with minimal supervision.

•Good command of both written and spoken English and Mandarin.

•Strong risk sense with solid analytical skill.
