<Job Responsibilities>
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental management systems to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Conducting environmental assessments and audits, including air and water quality monitoring, waste management, and soil contamination assessments.
- Developing and implementing environmental policies and procedures, including waste management plans, energy conservation plans, and pollution prevention programs.
- Coordinating and collaborating with other departments and external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies, to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and laws.
- Participating in emergency response activities, such as spills and other environmental incidents.

Job Requirement
The Contractor shall deploy a qualified Environmental Officer who shall be:-
a) In possession of a high diploma or equivalent in environmental studies or environmental engineering awarded by a local or overseas tertiary educational institution, and shall have at least three (3) years of experience in environmental management, monitoring and auditing of construction activities;
OR
b) A senior staff of the Contractor having at least five (5) years of construction site experience and completed the Environmental Officer Course run by the Construction Industry Council (CIC), or an equivalent certificate course on environmental studies or environmental engineering run by a tertiary educational institution as agreed by the Engineer. For the purpose of this Contract, a person who is attending or has applied to attend the Environmental Officer Course mentioned above shall be deemed to have fulfilled the requirement of this sub-clause.
