<Job description>
• Understand the R&D Department layout Coordinate with relevant Departments (Sales, Production, Purchasing/Logistics, QA/QC, …) to follow the New Product Development process to complete any new development project.
• Troubleshooting:
- Identify the cause of the problem (or defective product) for each process such as: Printing, Film Blowing, Dry Lamination, Extrusion and Bag Making….
- Practice on the machine (understand the functions of the main parts on the machine).
• Controlling the operational goals of the R&D Department
- Build and manage plans for the R&D team:
- Plan long-term and short-term for research and development projects.
- Ensure the progress and quality of projects are completed on time.
• Deployment of R&D Department activities
- Market research to understand customer needs and development trends in the plastic packaging industry.
- Propose ideas and design new packaging products (bottles, bags, boxes, plastic films, etc.).
- Test, test and evaluate the features of new products before mass production.
- Manufacturing Process Improvement: Optimize manufacturing processes to reduce costs, increase productivity and ensure quality.
• Links with Departments:
- Work with the relevant departments to reduce material costs.
- Evaluate and introduce alternative materials to ensure supply stability.
- Sample analysis from Sales Department (Sample analysis method using solvent, thickness gauge and any factory testing equipment)
- Make samples for customers, raw material suppliers or technology partners; Carry out any testing on technical information as required.
Coordinate with production department to resolve customer complaints or product issues
- Learn and introduce to customers about Factory.
- Work closely with Quality Management, Production, and Sales to ensure R&D products are aligned with business strategy.
• Self-training to improve flexible packaging knowledge.
• Support other tasks for BOD
<Necessary Skill / Experience >
- Education: University graduate majoring in Polymer, Inorganic Chemistry, Printing Technology.
- Language: English OR Japanese at Intermediate Level.
- Experience:
+ From 5 years of experience as R&D with knowledge of plastic materials (PE, PP, PET, etc.), their characteristics and applications in packaging.
+ Experienced in the management level.
- Understanding of quality standards and regulations related to plastic packaging manufacturing (ISO, HACCP, or environmental regulations).
- Leadership skills: Ability to manage teams, organize work effectively and inspire employees.
- Good decision making and problem solving skills.
