Job Description
- Creates, executes, revises and measures progress on the Continuous Improvement Plan targeted
- Works directly with team and management team to select targets for balanced scorecard (BSC) and reports out monthly performance to goal.
- Leads plant continuous improvement team consisting of ESC. Facilitates continuous improvement intervention & employee involvement throughout the plant and cooperatively with Engineering and Procurement within the supply community; may support other related sites and organizations.
- Identifies opportunities to implement common processes & best demonstrated practices from other sites and businesses; disseminates and acts upon relevant industry and corporate bench marking data.
- Manages cost improvement savings, tracks project progress to plan, works with project champions to assure timely completion and reports out status monthly.
- Verifies that predicted savings are tracked, validated with controller and posted to the plant’s operating results.
- Provides leadership, coaching and training in lean thinking and lean production, variation reduction, problem solving & avoidance and people / team strategies. Supports and drives compliance to corporate lean standards.
- Conducts internal and external lean audits quarterly. Attends quarterly lean events.
REQUIREMENT
- Thorough knowledge of a Lean Manufacturing Environment
- Successful completion of needed Lean Leader training modules, or structured development plan for same; prior exposure to and use of Lean Production tools (such as Toyota Production System, or equivalent) and/or Six Sigma tools helpful
- Prior Automotive Tier I/II experience is considered an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills in English

- Have strong workforce management skills
- Have good working knowledge of management principles learned through experience and/or specific training or substantial understanding of scientific principles to interpret, modify or develop standards
- Have ability to promote joint action, cooperation and communication to achieve results between functions for broader and more complex operation or management issues and activities
- Have ability to direct and lead group interactions through coaching, training and auditing
- Prior Automotive Tier I/II experience is considered an asset
