Job Description

- Review, draft, and administer construction contracts, subcontract agreements, and related contractual documents.
- Ensure all contractual processes comply with project requirements, company policies, and applicable regulations.
- Understand and implement project contracts with the employer/client in accordance with contractual obligations and project execution requirements.
- Handle contract correspondence, clarification, variation orders (VO), claims, and contractual negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential contractual risks, delays, or disputes.
- Support commercial and project teams in contract interpretation and implementation.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and legal teams regarding contractual matters.
- Prepare and maintain proper documentation for contract records, payment terms, claims, and project changes.
- Assist in cost control and commercial evaluation related to contracts and subcontract packages.
- Review tender documents, BOQ, technical specifications, and commercial conditions.
- Participate in meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders regarding contractual issues.
- Support project closing documentation and final account settlement.
- Understand and operate FIDIC contract standards and apply them in project contract administration and claim management.

Job Requirement

・Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Law, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
・Business level of English
・Minimum 5 years of experience as Contract Engineer in construction or infrastructure projects.
・Familiar with and able to operate FIDIC contract conditions in project execution and contract administration.
・Experience handling EPC, industrial plant, waste water treatment, or large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred.
・Strong understanding and practical experience in implementing project contracts with employers/clients.
・Strong understanding of subcontract administration, variation order, claim management, and contractual risk management.
・Able to review technical and commercial documents.
・Good negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
・Experience working in Japanese contractor or joint operation environment is an advantage.
