Job Description
- Develop and execute business strategies to achieve sales and profitability targets - Identify and develop new business opportunities, including market expansion, strategic partnerships, and investment opportunities - Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers within the heavy machinery, automotive, and construction sectors - Analyze market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities in the steel/metal industry to identify growth opportunities - Oversee daily business operations, including managing orders, contracts, and ensuring smooth shipment and trading processes - Ensure compliance with applicable trade regulations, company policies, and internal governance requirements - Promote and implement a compliance-first mindset across all business activities, such as contract review and partner due diligence - Monitor and manage business risks related to trading, logistics, and commercial operations - Lead, manage, and develop a team of approximately 3–4 direct reports - Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the sales team - Provide coaching, mentoring, and capability development for team members to enhance sales and negotiation skills - Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning activities for the sales unit - Collaborate effectively with internal departments (e.g., logistics, finance) and external stakeholders (e.g., suppliers, agents) - Resolve business and operational issues, such as delivery delays or customer complaints, in a timely and effective manner - Other responsibilities as needed
Job Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Economics, or a related field - Business level of English proficiency - At least 7 years of experience in Sales, Business Development, or Commercial Operations specifically for steel or metal products within Japanese or multinational companies - At least 3 years of experience in an assistant manager or manager role with experience leading a team of 3-4 members - Experience in export-import processes and tender projects - Understanding of compliance, governance, and regulatory laws - Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
