Job Description

- Create concept sketches, 2D drafting, and detailed 3D design drawings using SolidWorks
- Develop accurate 3D models, assemblies, and mechanical designs based on technical specifications and project requirements
- Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to translate technical specifications into practical and manufacturable designs
- Develop new mechanical designs and improve existing jigs, fixtures, machinery, and components to support engineering and production requirements
- Prepare and complete drafting and mechanical design assignments according to project specifications and deadlines
- Ensure all drawings and design documents comply with the company's established quality standards and technical requirements
- Conduct research and develop new design concepts and engineering solutions to improve functionality, efficiency, and manufacturability
- Support the fabrication and testing process by reviewing design results and identifying necessary design improvements
- Compile and analyze evaluation data from project fabrication and testing results for further design development
- Prepare material and spare-parts requirement data based on design and maintenance needs
- Compile and maintain maintenance records for jigs, machinery, and mechanical components
- Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure designs are suitable for fabrication, assembly, installation, and maintenance
- Other tasks as assigned

Job Requirement

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Conversational English proficiency
- Have 2 years of experience as mechanical designer in designing and developing jigs, fixtures, machinery, or mechanical components for automotive Japanese manufactures
- Proficient in using SolidWorks, particularly for 2D drafting, 3D modeling, assembly, and simulation
- Able to read and interpret 2D and 3D technical drawings
- Good understanding of mechanical design, drafting, and engineering principles
- Familiar with basic fabrication and machining processes
- Able to operate or understand the use of power tools and basic machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, and drill presses
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
