<Job Responsibilities>
• Provide legal advice on commercial matters in company, act as a business partner to the business units and support the senior leadership team including managements in the country with ASEAN legal team head.
• Get a firm handle on commercial matters and bring clarity and control to contracting in company.
• Advise and negotiate on all such contracts, so that all contracts, projects and strategic business initiatives are appropriately negotiated to deliver maximum value whilst meeting all required commercial objectives and deadlines (especially, commercial lease agreement) 
• Manage and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders in company, including E-Commerce, Finance, Procurement, Marketing, Store Development and Store Operations, Logistics, and others. Be able to interact with, influence, advise and support key contacts at all levels across the business, both within your area of expertise and across other relevant fields, to ensure close alignment between the Legal function and the business, and identify and progress value creation opportunities.
• Provide appropriate best-in-class end-to-end legal commercial, regulatory and compliance advice, including but not limited to compliance with Data Privacy Act, Customer Protection, Business Licenses, and Labour management in company.
• To manage external counsel on any litigation matters involving the business in company.
• Working closely with global and regional legal and compliance team to lead on compliance matters in company, helping to identify areas of weakness, put in place appropriate improvement plans and guide the business on achieving 100% compliance.
• Prepare annual project plans, and exercise appropriate cost management and control with all external advisers to meet the Legal function's targets to reduce third party spend.
• Conduct a local leadership role to implement internal rule/regulation including, but not limited to Code of Conduct, conflict of interest, data protection, business licences, anti-bribery and other compliance initiatives, including partner due diligence.
• Leading locally with other duties and projects as required.

Job Requirement

<Necessary Skill / Experience >
• Bachelor’s degree in Law
• Has experience in Retail industry or handling retail company.
• 3-5 years' post-admission experience (Mix of private law firm and In-house experience is the best)
• Administrative and commercial law experience
• Good knowledge of contract law and management, and corporate governance
• Strong self-starter and collaborator, quick-thinker/researcher/decision maker and strong self-managed legal issues finding and solving skills required, able to manage project and navigate the business department members.. Able to come into a quick moving environment and quickly assess priorities and focus
• Ability to strongly support and challenge commercial business colleagues to seek business purpose, but simultaneously, need to influence them to be compliant with the law and also corporate policies and processes
• Drive and determination to deliver outstanding results as company grows in the region
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience in international contracts and business
• Excellent communication skills and a reputation for being a valued partner to business clients: quick thinker, with a clear and concise communicator style
• Professional approach to handling issues and relationships
• Relevant tertiary qualification
• Has PERADI certificates
