GENERAL INFORMATION

 Position: DEPARTMENT MANAGER - RETAIL

 Level: Manager

 Contract term: Permanent 

 Recruitment reason: Replacement

 Expected joining date: Pursuant to Vietnam Labor Law

 Work location: District 1, HCMC

 Work time: Flexible due to job nature (retail industry); off 2 days per week (usually weekdays)

  Work on shift: 8:00am-5:00pm (morning shift) OR 1:00pm-10pm (evening shift)

 Allowance(s): 420.000 VND per month (fixed after probation time)

 Bonus and incentives: 13th month bonus (fixed) / Performance bonus and salary review once per year

 Benefit(s): SHUI / Company trip

 Selection Process: Three rounds (HR Department -> Division Manager -> Japanese Director)


JOB DUTIES

 Belong to Merchandise (MD) Department; report to Division Manager (foreigner, around late 40s)

 Manage 10-20 staffs (including Retail Manager, Retail Supervisor, Sales Staff)

 Team structure: Division Manager -> Department Manager -> Retail Manager -> Retail Supervisor -> Sales Staff and Promoters

 Job Responsibilities:

- Manage daily operation of the stores to ensure smooth running with achievement of sales target and deliver the highest level of service including but not limited to:

 Devise and implement sales and merchandising plans and strategies to achieve sales and profit targets of the department(s);

 Manage and motivate sales team to increase sales volume;

 Provide training and coaching alongside with HR Department to maintain sales service at required level;

 Conduct On-The-Job training; to ensure that all staff and promoters provide the highest level of service to customers; adhere to company’s regulations and grooming standards;

 Support sales floor operations; to lead and motivate staff and promoters in carrying out their duties effectively and efficiently in order to achieve profit & sales and stock targets;

 Prepare and analyze sales reports; prepare budget reports and any other (expense) reports required by the Company;

 Conduct sales floor inspection on a regular basis (i.e. monthly/ weekly/ daily) to identify and solve urgent or arising issues;

 Check and control stocks;

 Handle customer complaints or inquiries;

 Plan and execute renovation plan(s) for department(s);

 Plan and organize merchandise purchase and delivery schedule from overseas buying trips.

- Manage brands by:

 Conduct market research and analysis on competitors’ stores;

 Evaluate sales performance of each brand;

 Negotiate with suppliers for the most favorable terms and conditions;

 Plan and develop effective and efficient sourcing and procurement systems, source and procure merchandise;

 Set-up brand selection procedure and propose in/out brands; 

 Check and control product quality, quantity and origins;

 Control visual merchandising of each brand; 

- Plan and manage the department’s P&L:

 Analyze and interpret trends to facilitate planning;

 Monitor sales figures and forecast future sales;

 Create business plan and sales target for the department(s);

 Make plans to achieve the sales target;

 Manage and control effectively operating expenses (including manpower expenses)

- Collaborate with Advertising & Promotion Division to conduct marketing activities:

 Determine marketing strategy changes;

 Organize promotions programs, special displays and events;

 Analyze and evaluate sales result after each program; 

- Comply with the Company’s rules and regulations. Any act for bribes and the Company’s information leaking out is totally unacceptable.  

- Undertake any other activities required of the post holder by the Company.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

 Desirable Background and Experience:

- Qualification: Bachelor Degree (preferable in economic-related field)

- Language skills: English fluent

- Proficient in MS Office tools

- At least 5 years of experience working at management level (either branding or merchandising positions is ok) in big foreign/domestic relevant brand(s) and/or famous department store(s)

- In-depth knowledge about department store’s commodities

 Desirable Characters:

- Gender: Any

- Age: From 34 (must)

- Ideal candidate(s) must be capable of both branding and operating activities; those who just wants to focus on one side would not fit well with the position

- Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills with number-driven and management ability
