Job Description
This European brand has been established for more than 60 years now covering 9 categories of products related to car parts/hobby/technology/chemicals etc. Hong Kong has been their regional headquarters under which there are eight sourcing offices in Asia. A senior lawyer is sought to look after the legal function of the company as a whole:
Responsibilities:
•Provide legal support and advice to the business units in the Asia Region;
•Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts, agreements and other legal documentation;
•Identify potential legal issues in any business contract and contemplated transactions;
•Conduct in-depth detailed research on various issues;
•Oversee general corporate governance and corporate secretarial matters;
•Select and co-ordinate with the external lawyers that the company may outsource to and liaise with regarding various transactions and company activities;
•Co-ordinate with the European counterpart on the cross border legal matters;
•Perform other projects or tasks as required from time to time.
Requirements:
•Holder of a degree in law
•Professional qualification as a lawyer preferred but not a must
•Minimum 5 years of legal experience, in-house experience in commercial field preferred
•Excellent communication and negotiation skills
•Detail-minded, able to work independently and able to meet tight deadline
•Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, including Putonghua
Candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of Legal Officer
•Can be full-time or part-time pending the candidate’s experience and qualification
